ATHENS JVs FALL AT NORTH-PENN MANSFIELD, 38-2

MANSFIELD — North Penn-Mansfield held a slim lead after the first eight
minutes, but pulled away thanks in large part to a 14-5 third-quarter
run for a 38-23 win over Athens here Tuesday night in NTL junior varsity
girls basketball action.
The junior Tigers led 9-8 after the
first quarter, and 17-12 at the half, before stretching their advantage
to 31-17 heading into the final eight minutes.
Mya Thompson led
Athens with seven points, five rebounds, and three steals, while Karlee
Bartlow had five points, two assists, and two steals, and Natalee Watson
had five points and seven rebounds.
Abby Champion added three
rebounds and two blocked shots for the junior Lady Wildcats, while
Braelynn Wood grabbed four rebounds, and Izzy Davis had three boards.
Athens, now 2-3, returns to action Thursday at Williamson.
