TOWANDA — Senior Emma Roe and sophomore Emma Bronson were triple-winners
for Athens, while Towanda won 10 of 18 events, but the two rivals battled to a 70-70 draw here Tuesday afternoon in NTL Large School Division track &
field action.
Roe won the 100-meter dash in 12.9 seconds, and junior Hannah Walker was second in 13.0 seconds
Roe also won the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:04.0, and the 200-meter dash in 27.4 seconds.
Roe
and Walker were also part of the winning 400-meter relay that clocked
in with a time of 55.2 seconds. (Not all names provided.)
Bronson won the 800-meter run in a time of 2:41.2, and freshman Cailyn Conklin was second at 3:16.8.
Bronson
won the 1,600-meter run in a time of 5:56.2, and Conklin was second in
7:23.3. She also won the 3,200-meter run in a time of 12:54.6,, and
Conklin was third in 16:26.1.
Walker won the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 52.2 seconds.
Freshman
Emma Pernaselli won the shot put with a heave of 27-feet, 5 1/2-inches,
and Olivia Bartlow was second at 26-feet, 5-inches. Pernaselli finished
third in the javelin with a toss of 69-feet, 2-inches.
Bartlow finished second in the discus with a throw of 73-feet, and Pernaselli was third at 68-feet, 2-inches.
Freshman
Mya Thomson was second in the triple jump with a hop, skip, and jump of
27-feet, 1 1/4-inches. Thompson also finished second in the long jump
with a leap of 14-feet, 1-inch.
Junior Destiny Henderson finished third in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 198 seconds.
Athens returns to action Friday at Williamson.
