TOWANDA — Senior Hannah Walker scored midway through the first half to
lift Athens to a 1-9 win over Towanda here Thursday night in NTL girls
soccer action.
“Defensively, we did a really ice job,” said
Athens coach Rich Pitts. “Towanda played really hard tonight and battled
for 80 minutes.
“I thought we played OK in moments, but we need
to be a whole lot better offensively,” added Pitts. “So, the next two
weeks we need to work in the offensive end more. “
Athens outshot Towanda, 10-2, and had a 7-0 edge in corner kicks.
Athens, now 9-6, hosts Bloomsburg Saturday at 11 a.m.
