Athens 8th A and 8th B Shine in Straight Set Wins Against Williamson

On Wednesday night Athens 8th A powered through a 2 set win over Williamson - 25-14, 25-22.

The Wildcats held themselves to only 1 error at the service line in set 1 serving for a team season record of 96%. Madison Sinsabaugh served 13 pts and 3 aces while Kayla Forbes contributed with stellar defensive passing to lead the Wildcats. Emilynn McQuay’s presence at the net offensively led the team to a string of hits and side out opportunities. In Set 2, Athens climbed their way back from an early deficit. Down 17-11, Addison Moss served 5 pts and 2 aces straight to bring Athens back to 17-16 before a Williamson side out. The wildcats remained focused with well executed opportunities to pull off a 25-22 win. Athens 8th A extend their record to 5-0.

Meanwhile, Athens 8th B fought through a tough set 1 to pull off their first win of the night over Williamson 25-22 and a set 2 win 25-11. The Wildcats were led by Evelyn Roy with an impressive run at the service line with 23 points and 13 aces in both sets. Athens 8th B extend their record to 3-0 on the season.
