Athens Keeps It Rolling; Wins 17th Straight League Match

TOWANDA - Despite losing two-time "Player of the Year" Evan Cooper to graduation, Athens, the three-time reigning NTL champions, started out 2024 with another win here at the Towanda Country Club Wednesday afternoon.
The Wildcats have now won 17 consecutive NTL matches, accumulating 102 wins in a row. Their last losses came on Sept. 14, 2021 at River Valley Golf Course on a day that Sayre went 6-0.
On Wednesday, Athens posted a four-player aggregate score of 332, while Towanda shot a 349, North Penn-Mansfield had a 365, and Wyalusing carded a 367. Cowanesque Valley was fifth on the day at 421, while Wellsboro had a 423, and Sayre had a 546.
