Wheeler's Triple-Double Powers Athens In Win Over Sayre

SAYRE - Athens started a bit slow, but found its groove, thanks in large part to a triple-double by senior Addy Wheeler, and cruised to a 51-15 win over Sayre here Friday night in the consolation game of the annual Valley Christmas Girls Basketball Tournament.
"It was a good team effort," said Athens coach Kelly Burkhart. "We played solid team defense."
Sophomore Addy Wheeler scored five pints, and freshman Allison Kemp knocked down a 3-pointer as the Wildcats took an 8-4 lead after the first eight minutes.
