Athens Avenges Early-Season Loss; Beats Towanda In Four Sets

TOWANDA - Athens avenged an early-season loss with a 3-1 win over Towanda here Tuesday night in NTL Large School Division volleyball action.

The Wildcats won the first two sets by identical scores of 25-19, but the Black Knights prevented a sweep with a 25-23 win in the third set. Athens closed out the match with a 25-15 win in the fourth set.

"It was a great team effort all the way," said Athens coach Heather Darrow. "The girls fought hard the whole time and different players really stepped up tonight, like Emma Mallore, who had 6 kills, no errors, and 11 attempts.
