TIOGA JUNCTION, Pa. - Senior Chase Ingram scored late in the first half, and the Athens defense made it stand for more than 48 minutes in a 1-0 win over Williamson in a key NTL boys soccer battle here Saturday afternoon.

With the win, Athens improves to 7-1-1, and 6-0-1 in league play. The Wildcats lead Wellsboro, 5-1 in league play, by 1 game.

"It definitely took some time to get use to the grass, considering turf is what we are used to," said Athens coach Travis Reynard. "But, we settled in and adjusted and were able to create some great combinations at times and apply pressure to Williamson's back line."
