Athens Drops Regular-Season Finale, 9-6, At Hughesville

HUGHESVILLE - Hughesville raced out to an early lead, and held on to beat Athens, 9-6, here Thursday afternoon in non-league baseball action.
The Spartans scored two runs in the home half of the first inning, and added five more in the second to take a 7-1 lead.
The Wildcats scored an unearned run in the top of the third inning, and added two more runs in the fourth inning on an RBI-double by senior Troy Rosenbloom and an RBI single by sophomore Connor Davidson to close the gap to 7-4.
