Athens Notches Wins Over Sayre, Wyalusing

WAVERLY - Junior Eli Hicks fired an even-par 37 to lead Athens to wins over Wyalusing and Sayre here Wednesday afternoon in NTL golf action on the front nine at Shepard Hills.
The Wildcats fired a four-player aggregate score of 165 to cruise to a pair of wins in the new nine-hole NTL format. Wyalusing was 1-1 on the day with a 181, and Sayre carded a 256.
Hicks bogeyed holes 2 and 3, but came back with birdies on the par-4 6th hole, and the par-5 9th hole.
