Athens Pulls Out 2-1 Lead At Chenango Valley

BINGHAMTON - Senior Lizzie Gorsline buried a long free kick into the back of the net with 6 1/2 minutes remaining in the game to lift Athens to a 2-1 win over Chenango Valley here Friday night in non-league girls soccer action.

Pitts was pleased his team was able to overcome adversity to notch the win.

"I'm super-happy for the girls," said Pitts. "They dug deep within themselves to pull out a huge win after playing (Thursday) night and not getting the result they wanted.
