Athens Rides Defense To 2-1 Win Over Wyalusing

WYALUSING - Athens rode a strong defensive effort and a pair of timely goals to a 2-1 win over Wyalusing here Tuesday afternoon in NTL girls soccer action.
"It was a great effort by all the girls today," said Athens coach Rich Pitts. "Defensively we are just playing at a high level," he added.
Junior Brinley Nichols scored early in the game to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead, which it would maintain through the halftime intermission.
