Early Threes Propel Athens To Big Win Over Sayre

SAYRE - Athens dialed up long-distance early, and led by 14 after the first quarter on its way to a 60-13 win over Sayre here Tuesday night in NTL girls basketball action.

Senior Sara Bronson knocked down a pair of 3-pointers in the first quarter, while sophomore McKenna Jarvis also scored six points, including a 3-pointer, and senior Addy Wheeler added a trey in an 18-4 blitz in the opening eight minutes.

Wheeler scored six points in the second quarter to spark a 9-2 spurt that gave the Wildcats a 27-6 lead at the intermission.
