Offensive Woes In Second Half Doom Athens In 34-23 Loss To Towanda

TOWANDA - Athens led at the half, but went stone cold in the second half in a 34-23 loss to Towanda here Friday night in NTL Large School girls basketball action.
The Wildcats only scored six points in the first quarter, but held the Black Knights scoreless in the opening eight minutes.
Junior McKenna Jarvis scored four points in the second quarter, and sophomore Alissa Vough knocked down a 3-pointer. Athens was 5-for-6 from the free-throw line, but Towanda sliced one point off the lead, and trailed 16-11 at the halftime break.
