Second-Quarter Blitz Propels Athens In 42-32 Win Over NP-Mansfield

MANSFIELD - Athens used a second-quarter blitz to build a 13-point halftime advantage on its way to a 42-32 win over North Penn-Mansfield here Wednesday night in NTL Large School Division girls basketball action.
Senior Addy Wheeler scored four points in the first quarter to help Athens to a 10-8 lead after the opening eight minutes.
Wheeler drained a pair of 3-pointers in the second quarter, and sophomore McKenna Jarvis and senior Sara Bronson each scored four points to fuel a 14-3 run that pushed the Wildcat lead to 24-11 at the halftime break.
