Athens Boys, Girls Drop Close Decisions At Wellsboro

Athens, led by senior Jacob Shores, claimed three of the top four spots in the boys race, but Wellsboro had six of the top-10 finishers to pull out a one-point win here Tuesday in NTL boys cross country action, while the Lady Hornets topped the Wildcats by three points.
Shores won the boys race in a time of 20.17, while senior Matt Rossettie placed third in 20:34, and senior Corbin Smith was fourth in 21:37.
Junior Alissa Vough finished second in the girls race in a time of 25:39, while freshman Paisley Smith was fourth in 28:25, and sophomore Adaline Burnett was sixth in 30:04.
