Athens Can't Dig Out Of Early Hole In 42-33 Loss To NEB

ROME, Pa. - Northeast Bradford jumped out to an eight-point first-quarter lead, and Athens never recovered in a 42-33 loss here Thursday night in NTL girls basketball action.

Leah Beebe canned a pair of 3-pointers and scored eight points to fuel a game-opening 14-6 run.

Junior McKenna Jarvis, who scored five points in the first quarter, canned a 3-pointer and scored five more points in the second quarter, but the Wildcats couldn't close the gap, and trailed 23-15 at the halftime intermission.
