SAYRE - Athens' Gretchan Hiley and Maci Campbell combined to no-hit Sayre, and Madalyn Hiley accounted for eight runs in a three-inning, 17-0 victory in NTL softball action at Riverfront Park Wednesday.
The Wildcats' bats were hot out of the gate, cranking out seven hits in the first to build an 8-0 cushion. Madalyn Hiley sandwiched a single between a pair of errors, then Memphis Paul cleared the bases with a double.
Abigail Ahern's single made it 4-0 and a base hit from Mya Allen plated two more runs for a 6-0 advantage. Madalyn Hiley's second at-bat of the inning drove in the next two runs.
