Patton-Waring Connection Lifts Athens To 2-1 Overtime Win Over Liverpool

LIVERPOOL - Senior Delanie Patton set up freshman Everleigh Waring for the game-winner in the second overtime period of Athens' 2-1 win over Liverpool here Saturday afternoon in non-league girls soccer action.
"This was a good win," said Athens coach Rich Pitts. "It's our first time beating a Syracuse-area team in my years here.
Junior Allie Kemp scored off a nicely-placed corner kick by senior Kaitlyn Leonard, collecting a loose ball in the box and firing it into the right side of the net to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead it would carry into the halftime intermission.
