Pettitt, Hicks Lead Athens In Day 1 Of Districts

WILLIAMSPORT - Junior Brayden Pettitt and Eli Hicks each recorded a pair of second-place finishes to help Athens to third place here Wednesday night after Day 1 of the District 4, Class AA Boys Swimming Championships at Williamsport High School.

Bloomsburg leads the team standings with 170 points, while Danville is second with 158 points, Athens has 157 points, Central Columbia is in fourth place with 128 points, and Mifflinburg is in fifth place with 127 points.

Pettitt placed second in the 200-yard IM in a school-record time of 1:57.87, and senior Ty Lezak was sixth in 2:21.16.

Hicks placed second in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 22.2 seconds, and freshman Shayan Ankam was ninth in 25.05 seconds.
