Thompson Paces Athens In Third-Place Finish At League Championships

ATHENS - Senior Alex Thompson ran on a pair of gold-medal relays to pace Athens in its third-place finish here Friday afternoon at the NTL Track & Field Championships at Alumni Field.
North Penn-Mansfield won the team title with 138 points, while Wellsboro was runner-up with 132 points, and Athens tallied 111.5 points. Wyalusing was fourth with 96 points.
Thompson teamed with senior Ryan Cook, sophomore Patrick Umber and freshman Avery Gorsline to win the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 3:31.46.
